Here’s Why You’re Scared of Venturing Into The Unknown and What To Do About It

Venture into the unknown

I often wonder in utter amazement why the fear of the unknown still keeps hindering people from achieving anything worthwhile in life. And as far as business is concerned, so many people would rather not dare anything than risk failing. But what such people don’t know is that sometimes your greatest risk is taking no risks at all. J.F. Kennedy said, “There are risks and costs to a program of action, but they are far less than the long range risks of comfortable inaction.” So why do most people always rather prefer not to take actions on their dreams and aspirations in life?

I have discovered that fear is the greatest hindrance to venturing into the unknown. This fear of the unknown has crippled many. Fear, if allowed, will make you fail even before you ever get started because it will just not allow you to start at all in the first place. And if you don’t start something, how will you ever succeed at it?

Robert G. Allen said that “Some people would rather do nothing successfully than do what really counts and risk failing.” The fact remains that it is practically impossible for anyone to be a hundred percent sure of what the outcome of any step they intend to take will be. But you must still take risks; because without risks you can’t get off the mark. Therefore I submit that “the fastest way to get anything done is to first get started.”
